Field Service and Instrument Quality Control Engineer
Job Description:
NanoStringTM Technologies seeks an experienced engineer to join our Instrument Service group to perform both field service and incoming QC of the nCounter™ Digital Analyzers and Prep Stations. The Digital Analyzer is a state-of-the-art automated high resolution imaging system and the Prep Station is a multi-channel liquid handling robot utilized in sample preparation. You will be trained as a Tier 1 Field Service Engineer which includes up to 75% travel throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
Requirements:
- Mechanical, Electrical, or Bio-Engineering B.S. degree with 2-5 years of relevant field service experience
- Thorough understanding of state-of-the-art hardware and software QC methodologies
- Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy and robotic systems is preferred
- General knowledge of genetic analysis techniques (DNA microarrays, gene expression analysis, and quantitative PCR) is useful
- Experience working in a QSR certified organization is considered a plus
- Capable of working independently and in a team environment, communicating relevant scientific data effectively in oral and written format, working in a timely manner to meet defined deadlines, and representing NanoString Technologies effectively in the field
Additional qualifications include:
- Installing instrumentation in both research and medical diagnostic laboratories in accordance with IQOQ procedures
- Performing annual preventative maintenance procedures on systems installed at customer sites
- Documenting all activities and updating/maintaining instrument configuration databases in compliance with all Quality Assurance procedures
- Interfacing with the commercial team and NanoString customers directly when performing instrument service and technical support
- Communicating service concerns with our OEM partners
